Oolong Tea

Discover our collection of oolong teas, a fascinating style of tea known for its wide range of flavours, aromas and levels of oxidation. Sitting between green and black tea in terms of processing, oolong can offer everything from fresh and floral to rich, creamy and deeply aromatic character.

Oolong tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and is partially oxidised during production. This places it between green tea, which is minimally oxidised, and black tea, which is fully oxidised.

The degree of oxidation and the way the leaves are processed can create remarkably different styles of oolong tea. Some are light, floral and refreshing, while others are darker, richer and more complex.

Our Oolong Tea Collection

Our range includes Oolong Green, a celebrated Chinese oolong from Fujian Province. Lightly oxidised, it produces a bright golden infusion with elegant floral and orchid-like notes, a smooth texture and a refreshing finish.

Formosa Oolong represents the distinctive oolong tradition of Taiwan, offering a smooth and aromatic cup with the characteristic depth associated with Taiwanese oolong teas.

For something more complex, our Garden Spice blend combines oolong tea with a selection of botanicals including Siberian ginseng, lemongrass, ginger root, yerba mate, nettle, fennel and dandelion. The result is a distinctive combination of tea, herbs, citrus and gentle spice.

How to Brew Oolong Tea

Oolong teas can generally be brewed with water between 85–95°C, depending on the style. Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup and infuse for approximately 3–5 minutes.

Lighter oolongs such as Tie Guan Yin are best brewed towards the lower end of the temperature range, allowing their delicate floral character to shine. More robust oolongs can benefit from hotter water and a slightly longer infusion.

Oolong is traditionally enjoyed without milk, although personal preference should always come first.
