A traditional South American herbal infusion made from the leaves of the yerba mate plant, enjoyed for centuries across countries such as Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and southern Brazil. Traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among friends, yerba mate is celebrated for its distinctive character and invigorating qualities. It produces a golden-green infusion with fresh herbal notes, a gentle bitterness and a smooth, lingering finish.
Brewing Guide:
Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup. Infuse with freshly boiled water that has cooled slightly to around 80–85°C for 3–5 minutes. Avoid using boiling water, as this can create a harsher flavour. Best enjoyed without milk.
Cold Brew Guide:
Use 1–2 teaspoons per 350ml of cold water. Infuse in the refrigerator for 6–8 hours, or overnight for a smooth and refreshing Cold Brew with a naturally crisp herbal character. Strain before serving over ice.
